About
We started with one rule:
build the brand first, the business second.
Close Friends began as a folder of bookmarks — recipes from a friend in Puglia, photographs of a hotel in Greece nobody could pronounce, a list of three writers we kept forwarding to each other.
We made it into a small magazine because most of what we were reading felt either too loud, too commercial, or too clean. We wanted something closer to a long letter from a thoughtful friend — one who travels a little, cooks well, and isn't trying to sell you anything urgent.
So we publish slowly. A few stories a month, a small edit of objects we actually use, three writers we believe in. There is no funding round behind this, no growth target, no marketing calendar. Just an honest field guide to a quieter way of living — gathered carefully, and shared.
